Thoughts on the future of metal music: I think that the day Priest & Maiden stops playing we're gonna have a hard time getting airplay. To much Emo & Nu-metal out there for my taste.
Q1) What can people expect from the new release- The Black Flame- how is it similar or differnt from your previous releases?
Its heavier, a more darkish album then b4. We have a new lineup, new label etc so offcourse we're gonna be a bit diffrent than b4 but the very core of WOLF is still there. We've taken our songwriting to a new level as WOLF have grown without getting grown-up.
Q2) What are your current touring plans? What is the largest show you've played to date? Have you ever played he US- any plans to do so this tour?
We're not the band that can tour for 2-3 months so we do smaller tours. We've done a minitour in germany with Trivium and we're doing a few dates here in Skandinavia with Celtic Frost and Kreator soon. In april we're doing holland, England and Ireland together with our mates in The Haunted. Between that we do one off shows and festivals. Offcourse we're doing germany again this summer.
WOLF have played the us twice; first at the BW&BK fest and also the Metal & Hardcore fest last year. It's been amazing both times. Touring the US is hard for us cause off the cost off getting us over there but we're working on it since we have alotta fans that we speak to everyday over the internet. We have see what the future bring us.
Q3) You have often been compared to Iron Maiden- are you tired of the comparisons or is something you have grown used to.
Not tired at all. I mean, i joined Wolf in 2002. Right in the middle off the whole "wolf/maiden" debate and that was what got me into the band in the first place. We've taking that thing a step further and say "that we write the songs Maiden forgot to write" lol. Every metalfan out there have to agree that the world need more bands that sound like maiden instead of bands that care more about their looks than their music. If you dont agree...your just not that metal.... At the same time we've grown into the whole thing in that way that the obvious maiden-sounding stuff isn't there anymore or at least not that obvious. I guess we've found a balance within our own sound.
Q4) What are your future goals for the band- how big do you see Wolf getting, what do you think is the true potential for Wolf?
I think we can get big as fuck BUT it's a hard biz to make it in. We're on a label that gives us the support we need so its up to the good taste off the metalfans. If we toured more than we do we would reach more people but we're simply not in that position at the moment. We hope to change that in the near future. In any case, we will still be making music regardless off popularity..i mean, fuck, this is who we are. Heavy metal is in our blood. 666%
Q5) What else do you want people to know about Wolf?
What questions are you tired of answering about the band- what things do you wish people would ask more about the band?
I'm not tired answering ANY questions cause i'm as intressted in you as you are in us. If someone gives me/us a minute to discuss music and such then i'm all ears and mouth.
Thanx to everyone that picked up The Black Flame and to everyone who gave a comment or support to us on Myspace.com/wolfheavymetal
We appreciate EVERY one off you lot!
Be loud and proud//
